Just Busy…
At church the other night I requested prayer because it’s October. This means that we will just be busy for the next, oh, gazillion weeks. Or so it feels. Now, it’s all fun busy stuff, but it’s busy stuff that keeps me from my normal routine and from things that typically get done, don’t.
Thankfully I have friends that help. Heather brought M over today and the kids played while we started setting up for the party. Of course it’s supposed to rain tomorrow so we couldn’t do the real fun stuff like hanging the lanterns or stringing the light, but we did get started. Since Kennedy was playing with Micah I could sweep some of the sand off of the porch without her “help.” Now, I did have to catch Micah from going down our steps face first. It seems he likes to break his falls with his face too.
I’m baking some amazing Nutella Cheesecake bars for a neighborhood bake sale to benefit the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. The bake sale is being held after our neighborhoods annual Halloween parade. The parade and Halloween fest are one of my favorite thing our neighborhood does. The first year, Kennedy was just eight months old and I didn’t know much about it. I didn’t know that no one really watches the parade, everyone is in it. Not that it really mattered, Kennedy slept through the entire thing anyway.
So, yes, this time of year is busy. I’m attempting to participate in NaNoWriMo this year but November is going to be even busier. But, I have a WIP that won’t write itself sadly. My writing and exercise routine are the first thing that get dumped when I need extra time in the day to do other things and this always makes me sad. But, I remind myself that when we are busy like this it means we are making memories. No one will remember if I swam my 15 laps, but they will remember my cheesecake nutella bars.
