Embarrassing
Y’all I’m embarrassed.
I don’t even want to write this out because I’m so mortified by this.
But, for the sake of blogging here we go…
Friday at playgroup (WAHOO! FLAMINGO PARTY) I noticed that Kennedy was unusually clingy and felt rather warm. When we got home I took her temp and it was hovering in the 101 range. I thought it was strange since we’d just been to the Ped. on Tuesday for a random swollen eye. The random swollen eye was due to a pretty severe reaction to pollen. The pretty severe reaction to pollen has lead to her sinuses draining into her ears and she has a massive double ear infection. So, antibiotics for everyone! So, here it was on Friday and Kennedy was running a fever while on antibiotics.
I was supposed to head to my college on Saturday for the alum reunion. Something that I had bought 4 (YES, FOUR!) dresses for. With Kennedy running her random temp and being all sorts of clingy on Friday I’d already conceded that I wouldn’t get to go. On Saturday she woke up feeling FINE. She was playing and happy and running around the house like it was her birthday. I knew that several of my friends would be bringing there small babies and children would be there so I decided to still not go. Just in case.
Saturday morning was awesome. We ran errands and had a really joyful morning. I put Kennedy down for her nap. She woke up with a raging fever. But, she was playing like it was no biggie. I gave her some childrens advil and then called my mom for advice.
Mom said to take her to the local kids doc-in-a-box.
And I did…only to be told my kid was fine. No fever. Not even an ear infection anymore.
I skipped out on an awesome dinner with friends to be told my kid was perfectly healthy.
Funky swollen eye that lead to my over reaction…
