Family

In the past two months we’ve visited both sides of the family.  Kennedy has been inundated by relatives.  Some of them she was more excited to see than others (Sorry Grandma, not sure what it is about you).

While we were with Jason’s family we showed Kennedy something that Jason has been DYING to show her since she first showed an interest in trains.

Sarah, Kennedy and Hannah on the TRAIN at the park.

The city near where Jason grew up is pretty cool.  They have a whole mini-amusement park in the park.  It’s mostly rides for kids Kennedy’s age and for the most part she thought it as pretty amazing.

I think these pictures sum up how much she loved riding on the trains.

A week later we were lucky enough to hit my families annual reunion.  My Grandfather was one of MANY.  There are many sides to this reunion but our favorite part is the food.  I found out that Kennedy is over beans but in pretty fond of fried okra (which makes me happy).

My family reunion is held outside.  In June.  It is HOT.  Kennedy looks pretty done in this picture, but didn’t mind as long as Nana continued to feed her sweets.

This is Mary, my best friend (and cousin) since childhood (seriously, I don’t ever remember NOT knowing her) and her daughter Glenn.  I literally cried when I found out that Mary was having a girl because I was so thankful that my daughter would have a friend like I do.

A BUNCH of cousins.  Obviously before they headed out to the sprinkler and Kennedy took the opportunity to play with all of the toys they’d left in doors.

And over the 4th of July we headed back up to Jason’s home town for another family reunion.  I must say this one was MUCH cooler since it was in the mountains and NOT in the blazing sun. Unlike my family reunion where there are always new babies, Kennedy was the youngest at this one.  And she loved EVERY SINGLE minute of it.

Asking Uncle Olen to play more.

She also got a ton of sweets at this one and enjoyed running around the open field (on the top of the mountain) and watching the bigger kids ride the four wheelers.  I then told her when she was old enough to date (30) she could ride one of them.

We are blessed with fantastic families on both sides.  We are also blessed that they are so committed to their families to get together every summer.

Thanks to various family members for these pictures.  I forgot my camera at every turn.
