I know it’s been a while since I’ve updated.  We’ve been enjoying the last couple of weeks of summer enjoying pool time and playdates.  Kennedy goes back to school next week.  She’s still only going Tues/Thursdays and I plan on using the time to finish reorganizing the closets and my final edits on The Never Ending Manuscript.

We’ve had a really great time lately.  Kennedy continues to be a delight (most of the time) and grows everyday.  She has a fantastic imagination and it’s so fun to watch what she comes up with.  My little girl is all tom-boy.  She still prefers trains and cars to princesses and dolls.  We also just found out that she is quite the t-ball player.

We’ve enjoyed playdates with her buddy Sam (and I enjoyed getting to catch up with his Mom).  Sam was the first boy Kennedy ever held hands with.  I’m not sure that either of them even knew they HAD hands since Kennedy was about four months old and same two.  Now whenever they get together they enjoy cleaning out my toy box (cleverly disguised as an ottoman) and then sitting in it.  This day they spent a little time coloring on our chalk wall in the laundry room.

A week or so later my good friend Monica (we used to teach together) brought her twins over.  We had a great time with Ethan and Gabriella.  Ethan and Kennedy had a great time playing with cars. Then, for the first time in history Kennedy played dress up.  It tickled my little pink heart.

We have, of course, been spending ample time with K’s BFF, Micah.  They truly love each other and being with each other.  It warms my heart.  Not that they don’t fight like brother and sister, but they love it when they do.  Since both of these kids are probably going to be only children it’s a good thing they have someone to fight with.

We’d just finished playing in the pool which is why they both look exhausted and wet.

I’m savoring these last few days of Kennedy’s first summer vacation.  We’ve had such a great time together and I’ve got to be honest, like every other kid,  I’m a little sad to see it end.
